lol basically Ichigo(main character) can see spirits and a shinigami(people who send spirits off to Soul Society and kill hollows which are the 'evil' spirits) comes and ichigo takes some of her powers ends up taking loads, then they decide to execute Rukia(the shinigami who came) and Ichigo decides to go save her and it goes on from there lol.
